"The Chinquapin School was founded to provide a high quality college-preparatory education to able and motivated youth from low-income families in the Greater Houston area. Through its rigorous curriculum and an emphasis on community service and earning what one receives, Chinquapin hopes to produce responsible, well-educated citizens who will become constructive leaders in the community.”
Chinquapin Preparatory was always the target for who I wanted to base my project off of, but more specifically I wanted to focus on the high school students who also attended this school and I knew participated in these rigorous courses. Chinquapin is notoriously known for having rigourous and a tough curriculum and for good reason, it truly does prepare you for a college classroom setting and environment which is amazing. Students that take these course although perform well in comparison to other major schools offering similar curriculum, also undergo major amounts of academic stress from their classes and therefor I felt needed a system that would allow for them to alleviate their stress which would help encourage them to focus better and be more mentally capable within their classes, therefore improving these student's academic performance.
